Autism Support Teaching Assistant Location: Newport (NP19) Salary: £75 - £85 Per day

Teaching Personnel is a well-established education and training provider, dedicated to supporting students with autism in their educational journey.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Autism Support Teaching Assistant in Newport.
This is a full time position (term time only), working between the hours 08:20 - 15:10. This is a temporary contract until August 2024, with the potential to join the school on a permanent contract from September pending a successful review.
- Provide support to students with autism in a classroom setting, assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Implement and follow individualised education plans (IEPs) for each student, ensuring their specific needs are met
- Assist in managing behaviour and promoting positive social interactions
- Support students in developing their communication and social skills
- Collaborate with the teaching team to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher
- Help with administrative tasks related to student records and documentation
- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
- Experience working with individuals with autism or related special educational needs
- Good understanding of autism and its impact on learning and behaviour
- Ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues
- Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting students with autism
Prior experience working with individuals with autism or related special educational needs is desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
