Our client is a successful and well-established vehicle manufacturer, they are looking for experienced Auto Electricians, and Semi-skilled Auto Electricians (to be trained) to join their team. This is a permanent role following the usual 3 months probation.
This role would suit someone with recent experience in Auto Electrics, previous job titles include; Electrical Assembler / Electrical Assembly Operative / Electrical Technician / Vehicle Assembler (Electrics) / Auto Engineer / Car Mechanic / Coach Builder.
You will have electrical experience within the automotive industry, e.g. dealing with vehicles like; Coaches / Trucks / Buses / HGV / LGV / Motorhomes / Emergency / Military vehicles / Cars / Lorries).
To be considered for this job, you MUST have the following essential electricalexperience (not necessarily for the semi skilled role):
- Soldering experience
- Crimping experience
- Able to work with small tolerances of cabling down to 1mm
- Understanding and following instructions shown on technical drawings and schematics
NOTE: You will be tested on all the above at the interview with a hands-on practical test.
Working Hours:
NOTE: You will be allocated a main shift pattern, however you will need to be flexible to cover the other shifts too, so flexibility is a requirement:
- Early & Late shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 6.00am – 3.00pm / 2.00pm – 11.00pm, rotating weekly (includes a 12% shift allowance, see below)
- Days Only Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 7.30am – 4.30pm (12.30pm finish on Fridays) (No shift allowance on this shift, basic hourly rate only)
Salary Information:
- Salary depends on experience, ranging from £12.08 to £15.50 per hour + 12% Shift Allowance (£1.44 to £1.86 per hour, so total salary ranges from £13.52 to £17.36 per hour – Early & Late shift pattern only).
- Overtime available at higher rates.
- Benefits include pension contribution, sick pay and overtime payments.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Fabrication of wiring harnesses.
- Fabrication and installation of fuse boxes, boards and RCD circuits.
- Installation of battery management systems.
- Installation of CANbus systems.
- Fault finding and diagnostics.
- Installation of wiring harnesses
- Installation of fuse boxes, boards and RCD circuits.
- Installation of subassemblies and subcontract components
- Soldering, crimping, wiring looms.
- Electrical modifications to vehicle bodies to the highest achievable quality standard
- Installing electrical equipment to a range of vehicles on a production line
Requirements:
- You MUST have a Full UK Driving License with own transport (Car / Motorbike) due to the location of the company
- Previous experience as an Auto Electrician, with experience of working on vehicle assembly, installation, modifications, or conversions
- Experience of Soldering, Crimping, and Wiring (this will be tested during the interview)
- Be able to follow specific build instructions, take detailed notes, and follow installation diagrams and schematics (this will be tested during the interview)
- Good communication skills, and be a team player with ability to work and cooperate with colleagues
