Job Description
The vacancy is for a Plant Auto Technician with specific engineering knowledge and skills to provide a mobile plant maintenance / fault-finding service. Experience of a wide range of mobile plant would be an advantage. The primary focus for this position will be for electrical breakdown fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on site vans, FLTs, HGVs, locomotives, mobile cranes, pallet trucks, battery servicing and a range of heavy industrial specialist vehicles used in the steel making business.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in industrial equipment and machinery.
- Perform regular maintenance and inspections on machinery to ensure optimal operation.
- Install and configure electrical systems and components.
- Collaborate with the Engineering & Manufacturing team to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times.
- Document all work and repairs for record-keeping and future reference.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technological advancements.
- Contribute to team efforts and goals.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Auto Electrician should have:
- Apprentice trained, with Level 3 qualification
- Ideally 2 years' experience as an electrician, in auto electrics and/or in mobile plant
- A current driving license is essential
- Strong fault-finding skills
- Excellent attention to detail, with a methodical approach to work and the ability to problem solve.
- Good communicaton
