Our client, a well-established family run, leading gate automation company, are currently on the look-out for an Automatic Gate Engineer to join their highly valued team on a full time, permanent basis.

This is a Field-based role and you will be working with multiple clients across residential and commercial settings. The role offers a variety of skilled tasks therefore you should enjoy developing new technical skills and learning to use new equipment.

You will be part of a team who all understand the importance of working together to ensure a high standard of work is delivered. You will be given support, training and the correct tools to carry out your role efficiently and effectively.

Automatic Gate Engineer Role and Responsibilities:

• Installation, service & repair of Automatic Gates within a residential setting as well as larger commercial gates
• Most of the work will be based in the Birmingham and West Midlands areas however there could be the occasional job further afield as and when required
• Taking part in a call out rota when required. (This rota is currently only offered during working hours - therefore there will be no out-of-hours call outs for the time being)
• You will ideally be based in the West Midlands in order to commute to the office when needed
• You will ideally have knowledge of a range of products such as CAME, BFT, FAAC, NICE and so on. (Training can and will be provided when necessary)
• Take responsibility for the overall quality of the work delivered on-site
• Carry out effective communications with the client and administration team
• Ensure the company meets its obligations and adheres to guidelines and regulations laid down by the professional bodies they subscribe to
• Work closely with other engineers and provide support and training to more junior members of the team

The work can be allocated around individual engineers personal strengths therefore full training will be provided where needed providing you are willing to learn and get involved in every aspect of the business.

Automatic Gate & Barrier Engineer Skills and Experience:

• Full UK driving licence - this is an essential requirement
• DHF Diploma/ Gate Safe - this is desirable requirement as the qualification can and will be provided for the right candidate
• You will have at least 2 years’ experience in the Automatic Gate, door or industrial door industry
• Be able to work to a high standard on your own initiative and be responsible for your work
• Always act professionally and with respect for others
• Be able to complete basic job forms such as daily worksheets and risk assessments
• To be conscientious and honest at all times
• Enjoy physical work
• A positive attitude and the ability to self-motivate is a must
