Hamlyn Williams has been exclusively retained by a Global Systems Vendor as they look to hire an Automation Engineer with extensive DCS experience. As a company with huge presence in the UK, they are ever-evolving and are looking to hire top talent to support this growth.
Role & Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to lead small to medium size project teams that implement engineering solutions with customised specials if required, to successful completion and within budgeted time and cost constraints.
You will be technically responsible for the overall technical design and technical scope of the systems and/or solutions in the scope of the project, design rules and guidelines. You will also support the implementation of projects, including continuous improvement of margin, customer satisfaction, schedule, working capital and safety performance.
- Acts as technical interface with customers, establishing professional relationships to ensure that the technical project requirements are fully defined, agreed and delivered within schedule and cost constraints.
- Acts as technical interface to 3rd party suppliers to assure correct functionality of the 3rd party deliverables including the correct integration of those deliverables in Honeywell systems or solutions.
- Ensures that required prerequisites (e.g., design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule, budget) are in place prior to commencing work.
- Produces and/or approves functional and detailed design specifications and provides technical leadership, support and expertise for the project team.
- Monitors and controls the technical project scope against the Project Execution Plan and Functional & Detailed Design Specifications, ensures effective change control and identifies risks and opportunities.
- Reports progress and technical problems and/or changes to the Project Manager.
- Travel to customer and Honeywell facilities is required amounting to approximately 25%.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must be proficient with DCS based systems; Emerson, Siemens, Honeywell, Yokogawa
- Qualification in Engineering or relevant industry experience
- Project experience, managing technical content and people.
- Customer interfacing experience and strong interpersonal skills
- Strong experience in Process Automation and Control Systems Engineering
Compensation
- Up to £68,000 Base Salary + Benefits
