Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Automation Engineer to work for a Cumbrian based specialist machine manufacturing company. One of the main aspects of the role is PLC programming and fault-finding on existing PLC code this is an essential requirement.
Key aspects of the Automation Engineer role include
- Support the engineering team with PLC & systems fault finding
- System/PLC faults are rectified and route cause identified
- Responsibility for site electrical drawings and schematics
- Support the engineering team in delivering Continuous Improvement projects and process improvements
- Assess risks in relation to control systems e.g. PLCs and necessary contingencies for failure or upgrade.
- Creation of new PLC programs and software updates when required
- Support the maintenance team in maintaining the plant and equipment to agreed standards
- COMPEX knowledge desirable, not essential, training will be arranged if needed
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics - desirable, not essential, training will be arranged if needed

The company is commutable from places in Cumbria such as Carlisle, Penrith, Keswick and Maryport.
