About the Role

Base Location: Aberdeen, Elgin or Peterhead

Salary: £39,415 - £45,136 depending on skills and experience + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available


About the Role

The North Caledonian Region are currently recruiting for an Automation Technician who will be responsible for the installation / maintenance & daily fault repair of remotely controlled switchgear and associated equipment including all communications systems that support this within the electrical distribution up to 33kV.

In this role you will be responsible for;

- Installing and commissioning automation schemes.

- Fault finding and the repair and maintenance of automation defects on a daily basis, using multiple manufacturer equipment.

- Monitoring and supervising contractors throughout the region.

- Reviewing network improvements and delivering these improvements.

What do I need?

- SSEN operational authorisations CAT 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7.

- Operational experience on SSEN switchgear.

- Knowledge of distribution automation systems.

- Be motivated to work alone and within a team.

- Training will be given for CAT 4E, CAT 7 and automation installations if required.
