Automotive Shift Fitter Technician

Here at The Job People, we are looking for 3 PSV Shift Fitter Technicians to join our team in the Bootle Depot.

An excellent and rewarding job opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious individual to join our Bootle garage as a Shift Fitter reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, whilst maintaining the fleet of PCV vehicles.

23.14 per hour, work 5 from 7, AM / Middles / Lates - 37 hours per week

The role as an Automotive Shift Fitter Technician will involve:

• Servicing and repairs to our clients' standards and DVSA standards.
• Continuous improvement of vehicle standards
• MOT preparation
• Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to company standards (Higher than DVSA)
• Shift Work
• General service, maintenance and repair of public service vehicles
• Cope with the day to day pressures that a normal vehicle workshop brings
• Vehicle inspections
• MOT preparation / Presentation
• Correction of running defects

Requirements of an Automotive Shift Fitter Technician in Bootle:

• Knowledge of PSV/HGV maintenance with recognised qualifications (E.G level 3 NVQ)
• Can work safely and unsupervised to pre-set standards and guidelines.
• Electrical knowledge is desirable but not necessary.
• A PCV license is desirable but not necessary.
• Inspection of vehicles for the scheduled maintenance (training can be provided) with IRTEC accreditation favourable.
