Job Description Summary
As one of our AVD Engineers you'll participate in a team developing, testing and maintaining virtualisation solutions for the whole of LBG. You'll have responsibilities for the development and support of these solutions which will bring genuine benefit based on business requirements. You'll also have the opportunity to further your skills to encompass automation engineering as part of a development path to improve capabilities within the team
Job Description
JOB TITLE: Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer
SALARY: £45,954 - £56,166
LOCATION: Edinburgh or Leeds
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

We'll expect you to be a technology enthusiast who is forward thinking and is excited by the new and evolving technology that is underpinned by modern principles
Operating in an exciting environment with the opportunity to work across not only AVD but the wider Azure technology s tack you'll be working closely with senior Engineers to identify and deliver opportunities for service improvements . While at the same time supporting the colleagues round the group.
About you:
You should have experience with maintaining and supporting of solutions using technology across a subset of the following areas .
  • Knowledge of Azure infrastructure like Virtual Machines, Azure Active Directory, Azure Storage, Security, Network Components.
  • Knowledge of securing virtualized environments, including threat detection, incident response, and compliance frameworks.
  • Working e xperience of AVD its architecture, deployment options & management tools
  • A basic understanding of FSlogix for profile & application management
  • Familiarity with application packaging and delivery techniques for AVD
  • Proven experience in the use of PowerShell and KQL .
  • Experience of client management (compliance, configuration, application delivery) using Intune
  • A working understanding of delivery frameworks such as Agile
  • A consistent record of solving complex issues in a distributed cloud environment.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills: Collaboration and communication with users, customers, and other IT teams are essential.
  • Attention to detail : Ensuring security, compliance, and optimal performance requires meticulous attention to detail and proactive monitoring.
  • Ability to learn and adapt: The cloud landscape is constantly evolving, so staying updated with the latest technologies and standard methodologies is critical.
  • Resilience and stress management: Working in a high-pressure environment with demanding SLAs requires composure and the ability to handle challenges effectively.
