We are looking to recruit a Machine Operative to join our Bakery Department as part of our wider factory team, at our food production facility in South Shields. On successful completion of our training programme, you will have developed a good understanding of our policies and procedures and be able to deliver on the high standards we expect.
As Bakery Operative you will be required weigh off and mix our doughs to recipe and set up machines to produce our pies and pastries, all whilst ensuring the machines are running efficiently during production. The successful candidates will also take pastries off the lines and pack on trays ready for cooking and freezing processes. Other duties include completing metal detection checks, weight checks and completing all related Standard Operating Procedures where necessary.
The Bakery operative will also strip and clean down the machines on a daily basis as part of our cleaning processes. Food Manufacturing experience would be an advantage and successful candidates will receive full training.
The hourly rate for the role starts on National Minimum Wage, however once the training programme is completed, your hourly rate will rise to £12.52 per hour. This is a full-time permanent role working 5 days per week, Sunday 8am to 4pm, Mon – Fri 10am to 6pm with day off during the week. Bank holiday working is also required.
