The role
A great opportunity has arisen at Hovis we're looking for a Stores Bakery Operative to join the Nottingham Team to play a key role in supporting our Operations Team. To assist the Sieving & Stores Department with Ingredient sieving and stock counting. Working with System 21 and Stevens Systems.
Our bakery is committed to providing a high-quality product to our customers in line with the Life Long Customer Loyalty programme.
Reporting to the Stores Manager, the successful candidate will be required to work 12-hour Shifts, Nights and Days ( 06:00-18:00 & 18:00 - 06:00 ) Four on and Four off.
Working within the raw ingredients department. The role includes weighing, sieving, stock rotation and stock counting. Driving a Forklift Truck.
Core responsibilities:
Completing documentation accurately and promptly.
Following instructions and procedures correctly.
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in their immediate work area by adopting the “Clean as You Go” philosophy.
Supporting the delivery of the site’s KPI’s for Safety, Quality, Service and Cost.
Being accountable for the production of high-quality products that are safe.
Proactively drive down waste by implementing our “see it, flag it, fix it" ethos
Effectively communicating and liaising with all other departments within the site to achieve operational excellence.
Receiving deliveries, booking goods in, and checking what's delivered matches the delivery note.
Use of SAP system and scanning guns - TRACK & TRACE SYSTEM.
Stock counts.
Allocation of correct bags to lines + paperwork.
Inputting figures into the computer.
Making fruits up.
Ideal Experiences / Qualifications / Capabilities
Basic numeracy and literacy skills
Basic verbal & written communication skills to describe problems, causes and solutions
Experience of a process environment
Strong basic problem-solving skills working within defined parameters
Basic keyboard skills and IT aptitude to input and access data
Desirable
Experience of working in a bakery and Plant baking qualifications
Basic health & safety qualification
A basic food hygiene qualification
Ability to drive a forklift truck / electric truck
