Form of workLathams Of Broughton is well known in Preston for its quality handmade cakes, desserts and biscuits and are looking for a part time shop/ Kitchen assistant to join our team based at Fulwood.
As a shop/kitchen assistant, you will report into the shop manager. Your day will include the following:
· Assisting in the opening and closing of the shop, including clean downs, and checking Best Before dates etc.
· Preparing customer food and drink orders, including hot items and afternoon tea orders.
. Making breakfast orders and lunch orders eg Sandwiches, Jacket Potatoes, wraps,
· Adherence to health and safety procedures including food prep and hygiene.
· Practice excellent food hygiene standards including temperature control, storage, product handling and cleaning.
· Recording transactions through the till and cash handling/card processing
. Cashing up at the end of day
· Working with the team to count stock and replenish when required.
· Provide a cheerful and helpful manner whilst greeting customers and preparing orders.
· Some supervisor responsibilities may be given to the right candidate.
We are open between the hours of 8am – 5pm Monday to Saturday, and this post will require the successful candidate to work the hours of :
Monday to Friday - 7.00am - 3.30pm
Availability to cover other team members for holidays is preferred.
Extra hours during busy periods may be available in the bakery or shop.
The ideal candidate will want to do well and be prepared to work hard, with a positive attitude to work. They will take responsibility for their own work whilst also working as part of a team - flexibility is key, as well as a can-do attitude to helping where help is needed.
Experience in working in a busy kitchen is essential and working within a shop environment would be an advantage.
