Job Title: Phlebotomist

Grade: Band 3

Ward/Dept: Community Phlebotomy Service/Adult Services

Trust: Central Surrey Health Limited

Location: Woking Community Hospital, GU21 5BH

Hours: 20-30hrs per week - 09:00-17:00, Mon-Fri

Pay rate: Day £13.07

Are you a qualified and experienced Phlebotomist who has worked within Hospital Settings? Do you have an all-round knowledge of hospital pharmaceutical procedures?
NHS Professionals have exciting opportunities for a Phlebotomist with experience to support our client trusts in a Community post. You will maintain key relationships with co-workers and other health care professionals across the Trust to ensure an effective service.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Collects blood samples from patients in their own homes or other residential setting using evidence-based venepuncture procedures.

Ensure that blood sample bottles are accurately labelled in accordance with departmental policies and procedures…

and ensure that clinical samples are correctly packaged for transportation to the laboratory.

Provides a phlebotomy service at designated other settings and monitors and maintains the health, safety and security of self and patients during the venepuncture procedure.

Performs telephone duties that include making and receiving calls from and to the phlebotomy unit, conveying sensitive information to other healthcare professionals, patients and their representatives.

Provides and receives sensitive information from patients and their representatives where empathic skills are required. Includes communication with difficult patients who may have barriers to understanding. Is able to present information accordingly.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

Evidence of Phlebotomy Train and of Phlebotomy Experience.

Must have a UK driving licence and have a car for work purpose.

Able to work flexibly across service area to enhance quality of service provision.

To be available for minimum 3 full days per week or hourly equivalent.
