Job description
The post holder will work as an autonomous and responsible practitioner alongside offering expert clinical CYPIAPT supervision within the scope of the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) initiative. The post holder will work in partnership with schools to deliver a range of Mental Health interventions within school settings. This may involve group work or direct work with children/young people as well as offering specialist Mental Health-based consultation, and advice around Mental Health to teaching staff.
The post holder will be responsible to ensure the effective co-ordination of clinical care provided within schools including consideration to safeguarding and clinical risk issues where indicated The post holder will work with teachers and school staff to identify children and young people with emerging Mental Health needs, as part of a whole school approach to Mental Health and wellbeing The post holder will build relationships across services to ensure joint delivery of care The post holder will contribute to the clinical leadership of the team, providing supervision and caseload management to the new EMHP trainees and will continue this provision once the EMHP trainees have successfully completed their training. The post holder will use the acquired skills, knowledge and abilities to deliver a service based within educational settings that builds on and reinforces, but does not replace those initiatives that already exist within these environments.
