Job description

We are looking for an experienced Paediatric Physiotherapist  to join our Community Children’s Therapy Team in North Essex, to help us continue to change things for the better. Therapy will be delivered in clinic, at several locations in North Essex between Monday - Friday 9am-5pm however we are flexible with these times and offer hybrid working options.

You will work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team to provide physiotherapy assessment diagnosis and treatment for children, and to support them, their families in self-management and care.

Main ResponsibilitiesThis list is intended to summarise the key responsibilities and is not intended to cover every task that may be required of the role:


To manage and prioritise own caseload and workload independently. 
Contribute to departmental development and key performance targets.
Deputising for more senior team members as required.
Provide supervision and line management to a more junior member of the team
To work with the child, their parents/carers and others involved in the child’s care to prioritise treatment aims for the child, including those with complex difficulties and/or terminal illness.
Provide complex and sensitive information to patients in a manner that they can understand e.g. regarding 24 hour postural management, or planning ahead in deteriorating conditions
 

The Ideal CandidateEssential


Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
Registered and compliant with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Evidence of Post graduate training/or equivalent experience relevant to speciality such as:
Child Development
Bobath Techniques
Specialist courses/ study on conditions that affect child development, MSK, neurodevelopmental conditions o Evidence of continuing professional development
Demonstrable post registration experience with some experience of working with children or in neurology
Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Experience of using a range of assessments and treatment methods
Knowledge, experience of Children’s Physiotherapy assessments and interventions related to working with children and an understanding of the theoretical framework underpinning these.
