Job summary

Paediatric Audiology Specialist Wanted

Join us in shaping a brighter future for children with hearing impairments. As a Paediatric Audiology Specialist, you'll conduct in-depth audiological assessments, including behavioural testing, OAEs, and ABR testing. Your role is pivotal in interpreting results, counselling families, and fitting hearing aids for our young patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct and interpret paediatric audiometric evaluations.

Expertise in hearing aid fitting and troubleshooting.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for comprehensive care.

Maintain accurate clinical documentation.

30.75 hours per week. Fixed term contract will end 31.1.25

Main duties, tasks & skills required

Perform routine audiological investigations on individuals of all ages, to support the differential diagnosis of auditory dysfunction

Assess and fit appropriate hearing aids based on hearing loss and best clinical practice guidelines

Behavioural hearing assessment of children some of whom will have complex needs

Support the delivery of the paediatric audiology service working closely with ENT and senior audiologists.

Complete routine follow-up assessments of hearing aid use and be able to trouble-shoot and problem solve accordingly

Support and advising junior colleagues on treatment plans and technical issues

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

BSc (Hons) Audiology or equivalent OR- MSc or equivalent level qualification in Audiology with Certificate of Competence in Audiology (CAC or equivalent).

Registration with RCCP/HCPC

Relevant and appropriate level of post qualification experience.

Experience

Essential

Knowledge of BSA and BAA clinical guidance and recommended procedures

Knowledge of Hearing loss assessment and management NICE guidelines

Knowledge kept up to date through regular CPD

Knowledge of routine and non-routine diagnostic audiological assessment procedures, their interpretation and their implications for patient management

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
