Job description

Are you looking to join a highly motivated team? Are you committed to providing a safe, high standard of midwifery care? Do you strive to deliver memorable experiences whilst supporting women, birthing people and their families before, during and after pregnancy & childbirth?
King’s College Hospital offers an opportunity for passionate and dedicated midwives to join our vibrant community teams on the PRUH site. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of working patterns.
We are recruiting midwives with at least one year’s experience to join the Traditional Community teams. The community teams are based at Orpington Hospital, Queen Mary's, Sidcup and Beckenham Beacon, with clinics in GP surgeries and children's centres too. We provide antenatal and postnatal care for women and birthing people living in the London Boroughs of Bromley and Bexley.
We welcome full and part time staff with the flexibility of working compressed hours if you wish.
The position entails covering bookings, antenatal clinics and postnatal visits. Midwives also form part of an on-call rota (long days and nights) for intrapartum care where you will gain experience in homebirths.
King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s largest and busiest teaching Trusts with a turnover of c£1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 15,000 staff based across South East London. The Trust provides a full range of local and specialist services across its five sites. The trust-wide strategy of Strong Roots, Global Reach is our Vision to be BOLD, Brilliant people, Outstanding care, Leaders in Research, Innovation and Education, Diversity, Equality and Inclusion at the heart of everything we do. By being person-centred, digitally-enabled, and focused on sustainability, we aim to take Team King’s to another level.
We are at a pivotal point in our history and we require individuals who are ready to join a highly professional team and make a real, lasting difference to our patients and our people.
King’s is committed to delivering Sustainable Healthcare for All via our Green Plan. In line with national Greener NHS ambitions, we have set net zero carbon targets of 2040 for our NHS Carbon Footprint and 2045 for our NHS Carbon Footprint Plus. Everyone’s contribution is required in order to meet the goals set out in our Green Plan and we encourage all staff to work responsibly, minimising their contributions to the Trust’s carbon emissions, waste and pollution wherever possible.
We provide care to a diverse demographic of women which will give you great learning and development opportunities as well as excellent job satisfaction.
You will be provided with support and training to develop your skills and confidence, gaining valuable experience in Community Midwifery care.
Becoming a King’s midwife will mean you are supported by a team who want to develop your career, prioritise your well-being, increase your skills and make our service a great place to work. You will be an essential part of our transformation programme to offer an outstanding maternity service. Staff are our most important and special asset, and we value and respect our midwives.
