SalaryNELFT NHS Trust are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join a well-structured and dynamic team. The client offers a full-time contract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.
Main Duties for the Band 7 Occupational Therapist includes.
- Assessment of service users and carers with complex needs in relation to home environment
- Assessment and treatment on the unit, in community settings and home visits as appropriate to support the acute clinical pathway.
- The role includes seeing a range of patients with particular focus on frailty within the emergency department supporting admission avoidance and safe, prompt return to the community.
- Responsible for operational management and leadership deputising for line manager and lead the team where necessary
- Manage own complex caseload of patients with highly complex discharge planning and admission avoidance support as an autonomous practitioner.
- Providing expert advice, and assessments for equipment and home modifications.
- Recommending adaptations.
- Moving and handling assessments.
- Required to deliver a comprehensive Occupational Therapy Service for service users on their caseload to meet the identified occupational and functional needs.
- An awareness of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable people, plus an understanding of the importance of dignity & respect when dealing with people.
To Be Successful.
- Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the community.
- Previous experience working with major adaptations.
- Manual handling experience
- HCPC Registration
- Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Have all Immunisations.
- Occupational Therapist Qualification.
