A Vacancy at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.
This role will have strategic oversight and operational management responsibilities for the Trust’s 3 long-established Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centres located at Barnet, Chase Farm, and the Royal Free Hospital sites.The aim of the Trust’s Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Services is to deliver comprehensive information and support to people who are living with and beyond cancer and to people affected by cancer including carers, friends, family. The centres are integral to delivering the national Personalised Cancer Care agenda and to improving cancer Patient Experience in relation to support and information. This role will support the Lead Cancer Nurse in driving forwards wider programmes of work related to improving cancer Patient Experience and patient involvement/engagement. This role will lead on the delivery of specific projects, strategic initiatives and quality improvement pilots.
• To lead and manage the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centres across the Trust, including oversight for the 3 static Macmillan Cancer Information & Support Centres at the RFH, BH and CFH, plus all outreach services.
• To be accountable and responsible for the governance, quality assurance, audit and evaluation of the centres, as bench marked against national standards.
• To ensure the centres offer a consistently high-quality service that is sensitive and individualised to the needs of the patient/service-user, recognising equality and diversity in service provision.
• Collaborative working with the Macmillan Personalised Cancer Care Lead on development and implementation of a programme of Health and Wellbeing events (HWBE) / new Health and Wellbeing Information & Support (HWBIS) offerings.
• Accountability to a cancer patient and carer user group. Responsibility for involvement of users (patient partners) in co-design of initiatives to improve cancer Patient Experience.
• Assist the Lead Cancer Nurse and senior management with the National Cancer Patient Experience Survey (NCPES), including dissemination and presentation of annual results and pan-tumour type workplans.
• Support the Lead Cancer Nurse with implementation of new national or local initiatives e.g. National Cancer Quality of Life metric, PROMs/PAMs.
