As a Bar Assistant, you’ll deliver a friendly and efficient service; to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all our guests and ensure they have a great experience. You’ll be attentive to our guests’ needs from the moment they arrive, make recommendations, and serve accurately and efficiently. Having a happy, smiley, positive demeanor throughout the whole guest journey.

About us:
Located in the heart of the Historic city of Durham, the hotel mixes old with new in our Grade 2 listed building, within easy walking distance of the prime cultural, business and shopping districts. This boutique style hotel includes 83 uniquely designed guest rooms.
Our hotel restaurant (Marco Pierre Whites) offers relaxed, simple dining alongside local craft beers and eclectic cocktails.
Our Neighbourhood Coffeeshop offers guests and the public a sanctuary to catch up on emails, read a book or meet friends for a catch up.
Our Council Room gives guests the opportunity to dine privately, run conferences or celebrate their special day with us, holding weddings for up to 60 guests.

As a Bar Assistant, key to your role:
- Deliver an exceptional level of service through a relaxed and professional approach – checking in with guest at each course to ensure satisfaction.
- Serve all drinks to detailed specifications and pass on your excellent product knowledge of all beverages (hot beverages, cocktails, wines, spirits).
- Work as part of the team, help-out your fellow team members where necessary.
- Encourage the highest standards across all areas (customer service, hygiene, health safety).
- Complete opening and closing checklists, re-stock as required.
- Always have a professional appearance.
