Bar Supervisor

Lucy Cavendish College, part of the University of Cambridge, is seeking to appoint a Bar Supervisor to work in our new student Bar/Café to ensure its smooth running, ensuring excellent presentation and cleanliness at all times. The role will include working  with a team in serving drinks and light food to customers, maintaining food safety records, stock ordering, budget control, advertising and promoting Bar to maximise capacity as well as supporting the hospitality team in running other events and functions, particularly out of term when the bar will be closed. This is a diverse role requiring a professional and courteous manner at all times along with flexibility and excellent customer service. The post requires self-reliance and resourcefulness and the ability to work in a small team. Due to the nature of the events, both during and out of term, you will need to demonstrate flexibility to work various shifts. We are open to consider various shifts to suit both the individual and the College but compulsory shifts are Friday and Saturday evenings from 5.30pm to 12.00am. You will not be required to work Sunday or Monday but can consider additional shifts on Tuesday or Wednesday from 5.30pm to 11.3opm or Thursday from 5.30pm to 12.00am. Previous relevant experience would be preferred but training will be provided. A strong team player from a hospitality or customer service background is essential. Previous supervisory experience is required.
