Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages as well as a small lunch time menu to our customers. This is a fast-paced role that requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment. You will also be required to work some events on weekends as and when required, this will include evening shifts up till midnight so your own transport is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a wide range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks
- Prepare and serve a small menu ( sandwiches, cakes, paninis, soup, jacket potatoes)
- Take customer orders and ensure accuracy in preparation
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and making recommendations
- Operate espresso machines and other equipment to prepare beverages
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area
- Handle cash & card transactions and process payments accurately
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Update all necessary paperwork
- Invent new seasonal drinks & lease with social media staff to help promote the Gallery.
- Help prepare the coffee shop to change over to a bar for private functions
- Additional shifts will be offered to work events, the right candidate will be willing to work evenings/ weekends, serving alcohol & helping where needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar role is required
- Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and beverage recipes
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and trends in the coffee industry
