Barkantine GP Practice Salaried GP Position

Salary: £10,200 to £12,000 per annualised session, dependent on experience, + MDU  

The Barkantine Practice is a young and fast-growing NHS practice in the vibrant Docklands and  Canary Wharf district on the Isle of Dogs in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.   

Now the biggest single GP practice in Tower Hamlets, and continuing to increase in list size, we are seeking an enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our well-organised practice team. You will be doing eight clinical sessions and one paid practice/personal development session. We will also pay towards your MDU. You will be entitled to six weeks of annual leave, one-week study leave, and an NHS pension. 

Both newly qualified and experienced GPs are welcome to apply, and you will be supported by an excellent forward-thinking team. The team consists of GPs, Nurses, ANPs, Physician Associates, Physiotherapists, Clinical Pharmacists, Administrators and Receptionists. You will have a dedicated mentor for the first six months. We work closely together and place emphasis on peer support with weekly clinician meetings and regular teaching events. You will have opportunity to use or develop skills and responsibilities in lead roles. We are keen to recruit doctors who are looking to combine clinical sessions with leadership roles in areas such as CQC, Safeguarding, Caldicott Guardian, and Clinical Governance.  

We have a well-developed Primary Care Network with access to an extensive multi-professional team to support the best patient care through effective care navigation. This is supported by excellent community support services (e.g. Community Heart Failure, Respiratory and Diabetes Teams, to name but a few). Our home visit requests are low due to the dedicated home visiting team and the high young patient population. 

The CQC has rated the Barkantine Practice as over all Good and the Leadership Domain as Outstanding.
