The team at Millers Multi Purpose Day Services in Beverley are looking for a Basic Support Worker Grade to join their busy team delivering first class care and support to vulnerable adults. This is an exciting opportunity for people who want to make a difference to older people with varying needs.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to working within this caring environment. The successful candidate must be an excellent communicator, work well as part of a team and be committed to completing The Care Certificate unless already completed. This will be provided by the ERYC and will take approximately 12 weeks.
You will be working alongside a team of professional staff who have a wealth of knowledge and training, the team will support you to develop your skills and experience, building your confidence to help others.
Millers is a Multi-Purpose day centre providing a service to people living in the Beverley community area. The successful person will be required to help plan and run activities for those who attend the centre. This would include areas such as Art and Craft, life skills and independence training, improving health and well being for individuals, participating in leisure, sport and community activities, meal preparation and baking of simple snacks. Millers staff team are passionate about providing the best service possible. We are all proactive in helping people to maintain their independence and be able to respond positively to the changing needs of the people who use our service.
The ideal candidate will have experience within the care environment including previous experience of working with adults with learning disability and/or older people and people with dementia. The role will include supporting people with personal care needs and providing a keyworker role to a small group of people.
Candidates should have the necessary written and verbal communication skills to ensure that we are working to a high standard as the completion of paperwork will form part of this role. I T skills are beneficial.
The council has recently undergone a Total Pay review and reward scheme.
This is a permanent post, 37 hours per week.
Monday to Thursday – 8.45 am – 4.30 pm.
Friday – 9.00am – 3.00pm.
