WHAT TO EXPECT

We are actively in pursuit of an accomplished Diagnostic Engineer, poised to play a pivotal role in advancing our HV Battery realm.

This individual will be instrumental in expanding the Battery Commodity Launch team. The shift to electrification is the biggest challenge the Automotive industry has faced in a generation and this team is at the heart of it.

Your mission? To provide expertise in Battery Management systems to lead problem-solving activities for any Battery/BMS-related issues on JLR BEV/PHEV models, predominantly this will be models that are in the Launch phase.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• To act as a point of first contact for Battery/BMS issues encountered during vehicle builds on all plants
• To lead investigation (level 0) into Battery/BMS issues within plants
• Liaise with and support Plant Launch teams to implement emergency response actions, working towards root cause identification and Permanent corrective action (PCA) using problem-solving techniques
• Engage support of Engineering to implement emergency response actions (ERA’s)/interim containment actions (ICA’s) and PCA’s
• Capture and cascade any learning via AIMS and PR AIMS process (Issue management systems)
• Support for Engineering build and Design validation (DV) Test teams as required for test set-up and fault investigation
• Lead special projects for personal and battery development as per annual objectives

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential – 

• Experience in the use of Quality tools such as 8D or PPS (Practical problem-solving)
• Experience of Product Engineering Processes / Systems
• Experience working in a launch or production environment
• EV system architecture knowledge
• Experience in HV / High Voltage systems
• Experience in testing HV batteries
• Excellent Knowledge of Diagnostic Tools for issue resolution
• Excellent knowledge of Data management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven experience in stakeholder management
• A valid Driving Licence
