HYBRID ROLE: 2-3 DAYS IN OFFICE
We are working with a globally established automation business, responsible for adopting the newest industrially applicable robotics technology. They're searching for a Control Systems Engineer in the UK Midlands to cover several key sites with brand-name customers.
Your Role:
You'll work with state-of-the-art technology from Beckhoff and Siemens to design, build, and maintain control systems. If you are heavier on the Software Design or on the maintenance/servicing side, there is a vacancy for both Service and Design engineer.
What You'll Do:
- Control Sysem Installations and Commissioning
- Create and set up software that controls warehouse equipment
- Work with other engineers to gather software requirements
- Make sure new systems are working properly, from testing to launch
- Keep projects on track and on budget
- Find and fix problems with machines and software
- Explain how things work and teach others how to use them
What You'll Need:
- 3+ years of experience working with industrial controls or similar knowledge
- Have experience with Beckhoff & Siemens technology such as TwinCAT 3/Simatic Step7 1200/1500, TIA Portal, or similar control systems. Hands-on experience with advanced Beckhoff programming is highly advantageous
- Profibus or similar Bus technology as well as Ethernet/IP
- Understand how machines like conveyor belts work
- Be great at solving problems with machines and software
- Be organised and good at communicating
- Be willing to travel around the Midlands to customer sites
