Job Title: Behaviour and Inclusion Lead

Location: Ashley Park School, Walton on Thames

Salary: GBP26,000 - GBP32,000 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Behaviour and Inclusion Lead to join our close-knit team at Ashley Park School.

About the role

To provide support, encouragement, and pastoral care to students at the school and take an active role in the de-escalation of conflict. Provide on-going training and support to staff in managing challenging behaviours (appropriate training will be provided for a successful candidate) and work with a range of stakeholders, parent/carers, support staff, outreach agencies and other schools to ensure the continuity, development and progress of individual students, especially with regard to low self-esteem and poor attendance and self-regulation.

Main Responsibilities and Duties

Pastoral Care and Behaviour:

  • Work with class teachers and other relevant education staff to develop a strategy for students who are struggling to manage within class, refusing to attend or have been excluded.
  • Respond to conflicts and situations as they arise. Defuse situations and develop strategies for those involved in conflict.
  • Work with small groups on identified issues such as self-esteem, friendship issues, behaviour, bullying, restorative justice, etc.
  • Be able during the school day to deal with immediate behavioural situations as they arise.
  • Explore opportunities for developing Student Voice in all areas of the school.
  • Retain the confidentiality of all aspects of school life and to have responsibility for managing and analysing all Sleuth Data.
