Job Title: Full-Time Learning Support Assistant (Emotional Social and Behavioural Difficulties) - Year 10

Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Start Date: As soon as possible

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and patient Learning Support Assistant to join our specialist inclusion provision in Rotherham. The successful candidate will work closely with a Year 10 student facing Emotional Social and Behavioural Difficulties (ESBD). This role requires a calm and nurturing approach, strong behaviour management skills, and experience working in a similar setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to a Year 10 student with Emotional Social and Behavioural Difficulties.
  • Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the inclusion team and teaching staff to develop and implement personalised support plans.
  • Foster a trusting and supportive relationship with the student to encourage engagement in learning.
  • Liaise with external professionals, parents, and guardians to provide comprehensive support for the student.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour incidents.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with Emotional Social and Behavioural Difficulties in a similar setting is essential.
  • Exceptional patience and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and confidence in implementing effective strategies.
  • A nurturing and empathetic approach to supporting students with difficult home life situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
