An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and patient Learning Support Assistant to join our specialist inclusion provision in Rotherham. The successful candidate will work closely with a Year 10 student facing Emotional Social and Behavioural Difficulties (ESBD). This role requires a calm and nurturing approach, strong behaviour management skills, and experience working in a similar setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to a Year 10 student with Emotional Social and Behavioural Difficulties.
- Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with the inclusion team and teaching staff to develop and implement personalised support plans.
- Foster a trusting and supportive relationship with the student to encourage engagement in learning.
- Liaise with external professionals, parents, and guardians to provide comprehensive support for the student.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour incidents.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with Emotional Social and Behavioural Difficulties in a similar setting is essential.
- Exceptional patience and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Strong behaviour management skills and confidence in implementing effective strategies.
- A nurturing and empathetic approach to supporting students with difficult home life situations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
