A large PRU in Croydon is recruiting several Behaviour Mentors for full time, ongoing positions starting ASAP. Working hours are 8.00am - 3.30pm every day except Mondays or Thursdays when you will be required to work until 4.30pm to take part in staff training.
The school caters for 150 pupils aged 4-19 years old, with EHCPs for SEMH, however many students have additional needs such as ASD, ADHD and SpLD. As well as a varied curriculum, they also offer vocational courses and extra-curricular activities.
The selected applicants will have previous SEND experience, especially with SEMH and associated needs. PRICE training would also be advantageous. As well as supporting students on a 1:1 basis, you will also be required to support whole classes with all subjects. You may be required to teach students on a 1:1 basis, as directed by the class teacher, so must be confident academically. Many of the students are disengaged, therefore you will need to be resilient and calm, preparing to put in the time required to build relationships with the students you support.
For candidates who commit, the school can offer excellent rates of pay, as well as a friendly and stable working environment.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. You will be required to apply for an Enhanced DBS if your current DBS is not on the update service.
Timeplan is a committed Equal Opportunities Employer and therefore will not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, or sexual orientation.
