Empowering Learning are working alongside a school in the NG3 area who are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support a group of children who present with EBD.
This role is due to start as soon as possible. The job will be on a fixed term contract until July 2024 and the hours of work are 08:30-3:30
The main duties within this role will be:
- Providing in class support to pupils who struggle to engage in class
- Following the school's behaviour and reward system to engage children
- De-escalating situations where challenging behaviour has arisen
- Helping children devise strategies to help improve their behaviours
- Working on a 1:1 basis with children with EBD
- Liaising with the school SENCO around progress of targeted pupils
The school are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience of working with children with EBD
- Possesses at least one years' school experience
- Can build excellent relationships with the children
- Is able to engage children in academic lessons
- Can successfully de-escalate situations of challenging behaviour
