Job Opportunity: Behaviour Teaching Assistant in Cardiff

Role and Responsibilities: As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students who may require additional assistance with managing their behaviour. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with students who display challenging behaviours, helping them to develop coping strategies and positive behavioural patterns.
  • Collaborating with the classroom teacher and other support staff to implement behaviour management plans.
  • Providing one-on-one support to students during lessons and activities.
  • Assisting in the creation of a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Implementing de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution strategies when necessary.
  • Building positive relationships with students to foster trust and confidence.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially in de-escalation and conflict resolution.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students overcome behavioural obstacles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
  • Resilience and adaptability to handle challenging situations.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools) are desirable.
  • EWC registered
  • DBS on the Update Service
