Job description

We are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to work within a SEND school setting in Plymouth.

The desired Behaviour Support Worker will have;

  • Experience of working with school aged children

  • Driving Licence
  • Access to a vehicle
  • Experience of working with pupils with SEND

  • A passion for the progress of school pupils

  • Available to work 5 days a week
About the role

This Behaviour Support Worker role involves supporting groups of children with additional needs such as ASD, PMLD, MLD and social, emotional and mental health needs. You will be required to work within group and 1:1 setting with a range of ages and levels of learning.

Your daily routine will involve continuously adapting and working alongside pupils to make their time in school as beneficial and productive as possible. Your main objective will be to support these pupils with this, as well as making sure they are not displaying any triggers or any signs of unease.

Our main aim is to offer the best possible support to pupils. In order to be successful for this role a nurturing, patient and empathetic attitude will be key.

About the school

Based in the Plymouth area. There is also ample car parking. We are continually seeking quality caring staff members, who with additional experience and training may eventually become full time or even supply support staff members.

This school is looking to appoint a passionate Behaviour Support Worker to work in small groups and on a 1 to 1 basis with Special Educational Needs Children.

This Behaviour Support Worker is potentially long term and permanent for the right candidate.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Behaviour Support Worker - Plymouth you will:

  • Have previous experience of working with children or young people; ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play or care setting within the last 2 years.
  • We must be able to obtain valid references from these roles.
  • Hold, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS, registered to the Update Service
  • Driving Licence
  • Access to a vehicle

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • recent experience obtained within the last 2 years, of working with children or young people, ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play or care setting. We must be able to obtain references from these roles.
