An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Behaviour Support Worker (BSW) to join the Primary Behaviour Service (PBS) on the Isle of Wight
The Primary Behaviour Service is a team of skilled practitioners with extensive experience who are working with Isle of Wight primary schools, supporting them to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being. We are a referral-based service offering outreach and in-reach support for primary aged children with social, emotional, and mental health needs who struggle to manage in school. In this role you will have the chance to use your existing skills in a range of ways whilst developing your talents.
This role will require you to be able to work with schools to develop behaviour management strategies to support children. This will include liaising with colleagues in schools around strategies to engage their children and help them to manage the demands of the classroom. You will also be a key team member in our centre providing effective in-reach support.
We are looking for a Behaviour Support Worker of the highest caliber, with specific experience in primary school education. You should have an understanding of the benefits of multi-agency working and be ready to engage with parents and families, providing them with support whilst promoting the value of education. Tenacious, understanding, and good with people, you will be a natural diplomat who recognises the challenges faced by all involved and have the skills to facilitate progression for our children
The successful applicant will be willing to work flexibly, and travel as required.
This position is term-time only.
