Skills & Experience
- Proven experience of processing all types of Housing Benefit/Council Tax Reduction claims.
- Experience working in a council or housing association
- Extensive experience of Capita Academy Benefits system. Up to date knowledge of Housing Benefit legislation and the ability to apply this accurately on a case by case basis
- A proactive and customer-focused approach to resolving queries Work will be in all areas including : New claims and changes in circumstances HBAA Work on VEP, ATLAS and Universal Credit files
Responsibilities
- Process accurate and timely payment of Housing Benefits and Council Tax Reduction to all those in the borough that are entitled to financial support to pay their rent and Council Tax in line with legislation. The consideration of revisions of decisions. Administering discretionary awards and payments
- Ensuring the most appropriate resolution to housing need in the borough. Preventing homelessness by the provision of comprehensive housing advice to members of the public.
- The timely assessment of homelessness applications and reviews ensuring the provision of temporary accommodation where appropriate.
Contract
- Initial 3 month contract with the opportunity to extend
- Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (Open to remote working)
- PAYE via Umbrella
