Salary Bar Manager – Shelter Hall
Up to GBP37,500 OTE + Bonus
We are currently looking for an Bar Manager for our award–winning Shelter Hall venue! Hospitality is changing . Change with us!
Shelter Hall is owned by Sessions – the record label for food. We find the most exciting talent in food, produce delicious hits (menus) and take them on tour to neighbourhoods across the country through our food halls, franchise sites and licensing models.
This role is based within our flagship landmark Food Hall on Brighton's seafront! Shelter Hall is made up of 7 kitchens and 2 permanent bars split across 2 floors including private cocktail room (Skylark), with private dining and unbeatable outside space along with seasonal pop up bars.
Shelter Hall combines a fantastic choice of cuisines and beverages for our guests, to be either ordered through the Shelter Hall app and delivered to their table by our floor team, or at the counterbar.
We are not a chain, so no head office pre–set menus – you are encouraged to be proactive and creative with the beverage offering.

Youll be joining a large management team of 8 people and during the summer, up to 100 staff members.

What will you do?
Work with the management team to ensure front of house employees are exceeding guest expectations and always running the venue effectively.
Oversee the main Bar and Skylark Cocktail Bar.
Manage the full bar team including an Assistant Bar Manager, Bar Supervisors, Bartenders and Bar Backs.
Recruit, train, motivate, inspire, engage, develop performance manage those within the Bar department.
Manage a seasonal workforce which doubles in the warmer months.
Full accountability for wet stock management, ordering and stock count – proactively working to reduce wastage.
Alongside senior management and the Assistant Bar Manager, be proactive and create but also consumer leading, on keeping the beverage offering fresh and appealing.
Oversee beer line cleaning and general bar maintenance and health and safety.
Show the team how it's done – this is a hands on role where you will also be working the bar.
Form strong relationships with the different vendors who operate out of the venues as well as the internal floor and back of house teams
Requirements:
Bar Management experience in a high volume venue
Preferably experience with multiple bars within one venue
Strong people manager
Friendly, positive attitude
Confident speaking to new people
Expert level of English language
Right to work in the UK
