Our client is a HVAC D&B specialist based in Staffordshire. Their work extends down to London and consists of D&B projects mainly in the commercial fit out sector that range from 100K to £7.5M.
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Building Information Modelling (BIM) Technician to join our client's team. As a BIM Technician, you will play a crucial role in creating and managing BIM models for HVAC systems mainly for office fit out projects. Your expertise will ensure the seamless integration of HVAC designs within architectural and structural frameworks, guaranteeing efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
Position Overview - BIM Technician
- Create detailed BIM models for HVAC systems using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD MEP, Revit, and Navisworks.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to coordinate HVAC designs with other building systems, identifying and resolving clashes to optimise spatial utilisation and prevent conflicts during construction.
- Assist in designing HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping layouts, equipment placement, and sizing, while adhering to project requirements, codes, and standards.
- Produce accurate quantity takeoffs and material schedules from BIM models to support procurement and cost estimation processes.
- Conduct energy analysis, load calculations, and simulations to evaluate the performance and efficiency of HVAC systems, recommending design enhancements as necessary.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of BIM models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project guidelines and industry best practices.
- Manage revisions and updates to BIM models throughout the project lifecycle, incorporating design changes, as-built documentation, and post-construction data for facility management purposes.
Position Requirements - BIM Technician
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems & building services
- Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to HVAC design and construction.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and deliverables.
