Job description

Contract type: Fixed term until 31st March 2025 in the first instance Hours: Full-time About the role We are looking for a Biobanking Coordinator to work as part of the Oxford Radcliffe Biobank (ORB) team. You will be based at the John Radcliffe Hospital but you will required to travel to other hospital sites (i.e. Churchill Hospital) or Oxford University sites (i.e. Old Road Campus). In this role you will be leading a team of biobankers providing a complete range of end-to-end services for Oxford Centre for Histopathology Research (OCHRe) approved biobanking projects, covering multiple tissue sites. In particular, you will be supporting research projects conducted by researchers at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Oxford Institute (CAMS-COI), and the Oxford Cancer Centre.  You will be expected to assist other members of the ORB management team when required. About you You will be educated to degree level in a scientific (or related) subject. This role requires you to have excellent communication skills and previous line management experience is essential. You will need to have experience of the consenting process or other patient facing interactions. You will need to have experience of biobanking human tissue and/or fluid samples. Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Human Tissue Act, Good Clinical Practice and the Data Protection act are a must and you will be able to develop and implement SOP’s and follow protocols. You will need to have excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to maintain and interrogate databases, as well as accurate data entry skills. The role requires flexibility and ability to adapt to changes at short notice. This full-time post is available immediately and is fixed-term until 31st March 2025 in the first instance.
