Job description

MCS Group is excited to exclusively partner with an exciting Life Sciences client seeking a highly skilled Lab IT Specialist who will be focused on integrating new systems into their client's various sites worldwide.

They would like the successful candidate to join their team on an initial 6-8 month contract (high probability of extension or conversion to permanent employment). In this role, the Laboratory IT consultant will be responsible for maintaining and developing Biovia software.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Partner with scientists to understand their processes, document, and manage business and technical requirements
    • Build Analytical methods and custom lists as required
    • Perform basic or complex configuration of laboratory information systems
    • Integrate laboratory instruments with scientific software packages
    • Develop simple or complex, dynamic reports
    • Break complex processes into smaller achievable pieces
    • Participate and take leading role in requirements analysis process with client stakeholders
    • Transform client requirements into design solutions
    • Design and develop reusable utility/library software for general use
    • Maintain the ELN system in a state of GMP compliance to ensure data integrity by following all related SOPs as they pertain to support duties.
    • Perform ELN maintenance tasks including Account maintenance, periodic review of account and System Audit --Trail and server maintenance.
    • Provide Level 2 (L2) technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing procedures that leverage system capabilities and meets user requirements.
    • During ELN upgrades and/or enhancements, perform development testing and support user acceptance testing, and upgrades.
    • Identify opportunities for improving ELN functionality and performance and provide recommendations to the system manager.
    • Identify opportunities for streamlining ELN business processes to improve efficiency and compliance and provide recommendations to the system manager.
    • Troubleshooting at the application level, error correction. Monitor application servers.
    • Familiarity with vision tool for project restore and back up user configuration, user creation, user deletion

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of Experience in ELN or any other Biovia product.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies,
  • Pharma lab instruments knowledge
  • Equipment connection expertise
  • Hands on experience in Biovia One Lab Suite (an advantage)
