Board and Audit & Risk Committee Members

As a supported housing provider, Parasol’s ethos is rooted in high quality homes and services that enable adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health problems to have choice and live independent lives while feeling safe and supported.

Regulation, compliance and safeguarding in this environment is key, therefore we would expect all candidates to be able to offer good insight and experience across these fields. You will also need to share a commitment to service quality that is impactful and be a team player.

Parasol have not been immune to some of the “growing pains” experienced by many small associations in this sector, reflected by the Regulatory Notice issued in December 2021. This highlighted a number of areas requiring attention including governance. An independent review commissioned by Parasol also provided feedback on the areas highlighted and following its production in October 2022 action plans are now in place to address those issues.

There is now a new board that has been in place since March 2023 with four non-executive members who bring significant experience/skills across supported housing, treasury management, finance and housing management.

For our new Board Member we are seeking a leadership style that will take people with you to support the vision. You will also need to offer financial and treasury management expertise within a housing setting, prior experience within a similar committee setting will also be important.

For the additional Audit & Risk Committee Member role, you will need to offer expertise across regulation, compliance, risk management and/or assurance.

Both roles will require attention to detail, sharing a commitment to service quality that is impactful and to be team players within the committee and within the main board.
