Thrive Group Wales was established in 2017 as a social enterprise, delivering high quality commercial Cleaning services to businesses and organisations, in both public and private sectors across South Wales. Thrive Group Wales were designed to provide a sustainable income stream to support the work of Thrive Women's Aid at the same time as building capacity and skills within the local community
Thrive Group Wales seeks to address the considerable barriers to education and employment faced by victims as the result of domestic abuse and aim to create family friendly employment opportunities for those furthest from the labour market whilst helping to integrate disabled or disadvantaged persons back into the workplace.
We are looking to find a passionate and committed Chair of the Board due to the existing long-standing Chair retiring at the end of the year. The Chair will provide leadership to the Thrive Group Wales Board and Chief Executive, by creating the conditions for overall Board and individual director effectiveness.
In addition to this you will:
- Have a commitment and passion for the organisation’s objects, and support its ambitions;
- Be a motivational leader, overseeing the organisation’s business, and strategically lead Thrive Group Wales in fulfilling its vision, policies and plans;
- Build and maintain effective communication and professional relationships with a variety of stakeholders and act as an ambassador, promoting the organisation to key partners and stakeholders and more widely;
- Promote the purpose and values of the organisation;
- Through the Board’s Committees and Senior Leadership Team, ensure that the organisation sets high standards of good corporate governance, and a culture based on our values;
- Lead Thrive Group Wales, facilitating constructive discussion and the effective contribution of all Trustees, ensuring that they receive appropriate training, and accurate, timely and clear information to fulfil their role and to support decision making;
- Ensure constructive relations between the Directors and Senior Leadership Team;
- Work with the Vice Chair to ensure any areas of concern are dealt with appropriately;
- Sit as a Trustee on the Board of Thrive Women’s Aid.
The Chair will embrace, develop and steer the strategic direction of the organisation so that it is governed in line with good practice and legal requirements and has a culture of integrity and openness.
