Booking Coordinator

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Booking Coordinator.
You will assist with the smooth and efficient booking of appointments while maintaining high standards of care and communication.
Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Administration Team Leader to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the team
• Communicate effectively with both internal staff and external parties, including patients, relatives, GPs, and other healthcare professionals, via email or telephone, handling queries in a sensitive manner
• Book patient appointments via the internal system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Attend regular team briefs and huddles, fulfilling duties as requested and adapting to short-notice changes in schedules
• Interpret referrals, ensuring appropriate preparation and booking onto the correct list, and expedite urgent cases as necessary
• Plan daily workload to utilise appointment spaces efficiently, minimising wasted appointments
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives, enhancing the overall imaging service to meet departmental and user needs
• Support the training of new staff members and participate in personal development activities as outlined by the line manager
• Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity in all patient interactions, addressing complex issues tactfully

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact sensitively with patients and colleagues
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
• Prior experience with radiology IT systems is desirable but not essential
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and service delivery

This role is on a temporary basis for about 3 months, and will likely be working 7.5 hours per day between the hours of 7:30am-8pm. There may be weekend shifts too.
