Bookings Officer | Norwich | Perm, Part time 22.5 Hours | £12.16 | Excellent Benefits

Spire Norwich Hospital are recruiting for a Bookings Officer to join their established team on a permanent contract, working 22.5 hours p/week. The successful candidate will arrange admission of surgical and non-surgical patients, making Pre-op appointments and sending admission paperwork. This is a great opportunity for someone who comes with previous administrative experience and dealing with customers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To receive all inpatient bookings from Consultants and secretaries.
  • To register patients onto SAP if required.
  • To accurately enter and process bookings into SAP & Outlook calendar.
  • Confirm admission details and post admission letters to patients.
  • Liaise with Insurance Companies for pre-authorisation and pre-verify.
  • Arrange anaesthetic cover for General anaesthetic surgeries.
  • Liaise with other departments within the hospital regarding admissions.
  • To follow Spire policy for point of service billing by carrying over credit card details where appropriate from Outpatient visit.
  • To review Outpatient clinics on a daily basis checking for DNA patients and rebooking where appropriate.
  • Liaise with Theatre team on a daily basis.
  • To adhere to the Hospital Health & Safety policy and any other relevant policies
  • To carry out any other duties that may reasonably fall within the general nature and level of responsibility.

What we are looking for:

  • Administration experience including working to deadlines
  • Ability to manage own workload including planning, organising, prioritising and problem solving
  • Experience of dealing with difficult customers/patients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, both internally and externally
  • Evidence of delivering and exceeding customer expectations, with the ability to handle difficult situations
  • Confident telephone manner being able to communicate with a wide range of customers.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • High degree of accuracy, methodical. logical using a common sense approach to changing workloads
  • Innovative and proactive with an ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to act with tact and discretion and appreciate the confidentiality implications when dealing with personal information
  • Fully IT literate and a highly competent user of MS Office.
