Brake Press Operator or CNC Machinist

Job Type: Permanent, full time with 25 days Holiday, + Bank holidays
Hours: 44-hour week, Monday Thurs 07:00 - 16:30, 15:30 finish on Fridays
Salary: GBP36,000 - GBP45,000 depending on experience

Our client are looking for a candidate with experience in the sheet metal industry with machine experience.

Responsibilities:

• Operation of press brakes/folding machines (Amada, Cidan)
• General Knowledge of appropriate Punch and Die selection
• General Knowledge of the complexities of folding
• Fabrication of predominantly Aluminium components (some Steel and Stainless Steel)
• Working from detailed fabrication drawings to identify materials and processes required to produce items to the customer s specification
• Use of metal working equipment (Brake Presses), but also guillotines, punches, laser cutters and others during the fabrication process
• Ensuring items are finished to the customer s specification and deadline
• Proficient in leading others and setting tools and machines for less skilled operators. (Training can be provided)
• General assistance in all areas of the workshop, checking others work and developing processes for the shop floor

Requirements for Production Manager:

• Skilled and experienced in metal fabrication, specifically folding sheet metal
• Flexibility - willing to turn their hand to many different jobs
• Confidence ability to work on their own initiative when needed but also to work as part of and lead a team
• All Sheet Metal duties including, marking, cutting, bending, forming, drilling
• Ability to manufacture and build from engineering drawings using Brake Presses, punches and guillotines
