Are you passionate about early childhood education and looking to make a difference? We are currently seeking dedicated Breakfast & After School Club Assistants to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting a range of children and their families across various activities and initiatives in the Sutton area.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Preparing and planning engaging activities for children in line with the Early Years Foundation/National Curriculum.
- Running play & stay sessions, workshops, etc.
- Ensuring all activities are fun, engaging, and age-appropriate for each of the individual children’s clubs.
- Making the best use of the environment and equipment available.
- Creating a child-friendly environment that considers all Health and Safety requirements.
- Organising appropriate snacks and meals for the children.
- Keeping the crèche, clubrooms, equipment, and toys clean, well maintained, and sterilised where applicable.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 1 year’s experience working with children aged 4 – 11 years in a school, play or other relevant environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Ability to communicate at all levels, particularly with children.
- Cooperative and flexible with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
- Ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility for running a successful club.
- Knowledge and understanding of Ofsted standards and the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
- Ideally have an appropriate qualification in Playwork/Childcare at Level 3 or the equivalent.
- Willingness to undertake further relevant training as necessary.
- All staff need to pass strict safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS Disclosure.
