• A highly sought-after opportunity to work a multinational construction and development company. Our client has now identified the need for 4 new qualified bricklayers to join them on a permanent basis.
• The first project is a new Student Accommodation development which is due to last for the next 2-3 years
• All projects undertaken are within London and as such the successful candidates will never have far to travel.
• The successful candidates will need to have at least 4 years’ experience within the construction industry, preferably working on Student Accommodations projects;

The Duties

• Lay and bind building materials, such as brick, structural tile, concrete block, cinder block, glass block, and terra-cotta block, with mortar and other substances to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, sewers, and other structures.
• Read blueprints or drawings to calculate materials needed for construction.
• Cut or saw bricks to fit around obstacles or into desired shapes.
• Use hand tools such as trowels, levels, hammers, chisels, and jointers to lay and align bricks.
• Spread mortar along mortar guides to ensure proper bonding of bricks.
• Clean excess mortar from brick surfaces using brushes or trowels.
• Repair and maintain existing masonry structures.
• The Requirements
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a roofer.
• Blue or Green CSCS card.
• Valid DBS check.
• Access to your own tools.
• Proficient in masonry techniques and practices.
• Knowledge of different types of bricks and their uses.
• Familiarity with power tools used in masonry work.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in bricklaying.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
