Senior Social Worker - Bromley - Adults Team
The London Borough of Bromley, Adult Social Care Services are looking for two Senior Social Workers to join our friendly and hard-working team on a short term basis. The role is in the Orpington Locality which deals with a broad range of Adult Social Care referrals. All care management and safeguarding tasks are undertaken as per the statutory duties for a local authority underpinned by the Adult Social Care legislation. The role will be based at The Walnuts, Orpington however Bromley plans to relocate the team very soon to the Bromley Civic centre. This is a 36 hours per week position Monday to Friday. We are looking for a suitably qualified, professionally registered person, experienced in supervising and managing staff. You need experience of performance management and the ability and experience of supporting staff through complex and challenging casework. You must have the ability and experience to maintain healthy relationships with partner agencies, particularly health, voluntary sector, and commissioned services. The ideal candidate should be conversant with different IT systems and know how to record information contemporaneously on social care systems. You will possess excellent communication, analytical and written skills and be a problem solver, as well as be effective at prioritising, meeting performance targets and managing systems. As part of a supportive management team, you will work to the requirements of the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act along with best practice, regular supervision, and there will be opportunities for training. You must be a qualified and registered Social Worker. A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check is also essential.

Your main responsibilities include:
* Hold and effectively manage a complex and varied caseload with appropriate supervision, guidance, and support, reflecting the function of the team and the Vulnerable People Service in accordance with policy, procedures, guidance and legislation.
* Undertake work within legislative frameworks including the preparation of written statements and representations to the judiciary at Court hearings.
* You will be accountable for complex decision making in relation to caseloads ensuring professional judgement, service user involvement, needs led assessment, critical reflection, and analysis to inform this.
* You will identify and assess levels of risk and need (within statutory frameworks) in often complex situations. Undertake safeguarding investigations and deliver protective and/or supportive services for individuals at risk and maintain up to date assessments, care plans and reviews.
* You will be preparing statements of need/care and support plans, in consultation with other agencies as appropriate, that reflect the wishes of the individual and lead to the commissioning of personalised packages of care.
* You will undertake direct work with adults and their families in line with care plans.
* You will work co-operatively with both internal and external colleagues across multi - agency boundaries.
Essential requirements:
* Social Work England registration
* Eligible to work in the UK
* 2 years+ post-qualified experience
* Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
