This a diverse, vibrant and urban school that has a strong team of permanent staff who can support agency supply. They are looking for an experienced TA who has experience in British Sign Language and who understand the challenges and joys of working with young children who are hearing impaired. The school is a popular special school with a great reputation and is well resourced, with interactive whiteboard in most classrooms. Rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, this fantastic primary school uses a range of innovative teaching methods to help their students make the most of their educational experience. The position is general in-class support - you may be expected to work one to one, in small groups or providing general in-class support as required. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to young people. You will be required to work with small groups of secondary age pupils, assisting them with their literacy and numeracy skills and helping to keep them on task. The ideal candidate will be an experienced SEND teaching assistant who has worked with hearing impaired children using BSL in a special needs environment.
