Do you have prior experience supporting people with Hearing Impairment?
Are you proficient in British Sign Language, BSL, at Level 2 or above?
We are looking for a Level 2 BSL Teaching Assistant to start ASAP supporting Hearing Impaired pupils at a deaf resource bases located at schools in the Stockport & Manchester areas.
- Hours on any given day would be 8:30am - 3:30pm.
- This is a supply role which will involve regular ad-hoc and short term placements.
- Pay up to £100/day depending on experience & qualification.
- Supporting primary or secondary school students with Hearing Impairment.
- You will need to be able to translate verbal instructions from class teachers to students.
- Primary bases are located in Rusholme & Cheadle Hulme.
- Secondary bases are located in Moss Side & Offteron.

You must be proficient in BSL. Ideally you will have BSL Level 2 or BSL Level 3 although people without these qualifications will be considered.
You will be required to support with understanding and comprehension as well provide pastoral, social, emotional and behavioural support. At times you may need to assist with note taking and scribing.

- An enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or be happy to apply for a new one).
- A minimum of 2 professional references (employer, study or volunteer).
- A CV with a full history from your education until present.
- The legal right to work in the UK.
- Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
- BSL proficiency.
