Building Consultant

OPRA have a fabulous opportunity for a Building Consultant to join a Subsidence Team, within their award-winning Subsidence Services Division.
Based at home but working closely with other team members and service providers, you will take responsibility for managing a portfolio of domestic and commercial subsidence claims from notification to conclusion, dealing with diagnosis, mitigation, and repairs.
Role Duties:
As a Building Consultant, you will be required to: -
Manage a portfolio of domestic and commercial subsidence claims from notification to conclusion.
Conduct diagnosis and implement mitigation strategies for subsidence issues.
Coordinate and oversee the repair process for timely and effective resolution.
Utilize both remote digital technology and on-site face-to-face interactions.
Collaborate with team members and service providers for seamless operations.
Maintain detailed records, provide regular status reports, and ensure adherence to industry standards.
Building Consultant - Essential Skills & Experience Required:
Have obtained or working towards chartered building professional qualification, e.g., MCIOB, MRICS, MICE and ideally an insurance qualification, e.g., CILA or CII
Have a detailed knowledge of structural defects affecting buildings.
An ability to diagnose the cause of Subsidence or other damage to domestic and commercial buildings.
An understanding of how to mitigate against Subsidence damage continuing.
An understanding and knowledge of repair techniques for damaged buildings and their drainage, particularly with respect to subsidence damage
Experience in insurance claims handling would be advantageous but is not essential as training will be given.
