Building Control Manager 
Salary range HC11 £48,474 - £52,859
Permanent
37 hours per week

You will play a key role in delivering our aspirations and vision by driving high standards of professional advice, working collectively with our transportation , economy and environment colleagues as well as communicating at all levels across the council and with our communities.

For the Strategic Planning and Neighbourhood Manager and the Principal Neighbourhood and Design officer roles you will need be a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, for our Building Control Manager role you will need to be a qualified building or structural engineer. For other roles you should demonstrate a commitment to planning and continuing professional development and will have/or are progressing towards a degree or equivalent in a planning discipline and/or have related experience.

Experience of local/central government agency working whilst beneficial is not an essential.  We are looking for positive individuals with a commitment to learning and partnership working with a public service ethos.  We will help you develop your career with us, you will be supported with technical and professional engagement with a network of diverse stakeholder interests across a wide range of planning, growth and place service matters.

You will be our lead officer for the Building Control service reporting to the head of planning and Building Control, you will managing a highly effective team of 13 staff, ensuring our professional advice continue to  meets the highest standards, reporting to Government on performance, driving income potential, working with the new regulator, promoting internal training and development and working with the construction industry and representing the Building Control service with professional bodies.
